Dear Coaches,

Monticello High School and the University of Arkansas at

Monticelloare please to invite you and your students to the 5th annual R. David Ray Invitational Forensics Tournament to be held in Monticello, Arkansas on October 7-8, 2011.    We have moved to the fall to avoid the snow and ice in hopes that you will join us.

Entry Opportunities:

·         Multiple Slates are welcome, but only the first slate will count toward Sweepstake Awards.

·         Students may enter in both Extemporaneous Speaking and IPDA Debate.

·         Students can only be entered in 4 individual events max.

o   2 entries per pattern; there are no triple entries in preliminary rounds.

Judging Requirements:

All coaches are asked to stay until the final round is covered with sufficient judges.  Tournament directors often need every qualified coach during the final rounds. Your students will enjoy watching the Curtain Call of some of the best performances of the day. We encourage you to stay to celebrate the performances.

Individual Events:  Judging requirements are as follows:

1 judge for every 20 entries or fraction thereof

            Debate

                        1 judge for every 2 debaters or fraction thereof

We reserve the right to refuse entries based on inadequate number of judges. 

 

Entry Deadline is Friday September 30, 2011 by 3:00 PM. 

Email is preferred method of entry submission.  Please send your entry to

Jim Evans at evans@uamont.edu .  Also please send courtesy email copy to

Debbie Ashcraft at dashcraft@monticello.k12.ar.us .  If you do not receive a confirmation within 24 hours please check to ensure that your entry was received.

Ballots will be placed on the website after voted on at the Fall Conference
