Board of Directors

About the Board

As ACTAA continues to embody our association's vision of a “future where every student in Arkansas has the opportunity to be transformed through participation in communication, debate and theatre arts,” the Board of Directors is the core leadership body that provides the visionary and practical guidance needed to achieve our higher goals. While this includes developing strategic initiatives for the future of our organization, the Board also holds fiduciary and legal responsibilities, establishes policies and provides direction for elected officers between the association's annual General Membership Business Meetings.

The Board works to ensure the successful progression of our strategic action plan — ACTAA in Action. This includes developing efforts and initiatives inspired by our strategic goals — reflect on our purpose, Increase our impact, expand our voice and increase our ability to adapt — and assembling committees to empower the membership to achieve these goals through the work of the body.

The ACTAA Board of Directors is comprised of fifteen members: the four elected officers in the presidential track (President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President & Past President); three executive leaders appointed by the Board (Executive Director, Executive Treasurer & Executive Secretary): four appointed officers (the Archivist, Webmaster, Professional Development Coordinator & Committee Coordinator); and four elected discipline representatives (Debate Representative, Forensics Representative, Commutation Studies Representative & Théâtre Representative)
