ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION

The founding legal corporate documents of the association. Originally founding in 1936, the organization has readopted two versions of the its Articles of Incorporation during its history as part of filed paperwork for 501(c)3 nonprofit status.

CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS

These documents outline fundamental principles, structure and rules which govern our organization. The bylaws establish the specific rules of guidance by which the committee and leadership are to operate. Adopted by the membership, these documents serve as the highest hierarchy of precedence within the association. 

The current version of the ACTAA Constitution was last amended by the membership Sep. 9, 2023 at the Fall Conference General Business Meeting in Hot Springs.

The submission deadline is August 1 of each year for any proposed amendments to be considered at the General Business Meeting at the upcoming Fall Conference.

PROFESSIONAL & ETHICAL STANDARDS OF CONDUCT

The Arkansas Communication & Theatre Arts Association (ACTAA) is committed to promoting ethical and rational communication behavior as an important part of its activity, maintaining a deep respect for freedom of expression. As such, the Board of Directors has adopted a set Professional & Ethical Standards to guide students, coaches, judges, staff, and all other individuals present at, or participating in, an activity sanctioned by ACTAA.

Professional & Ethical Standards of Conduct

File a Formal Grievance 

If a complaint is not resolved through the informal process, the participant may then submit a written grievance to the chair of the Ethics Committee. The grievance should be filed within the same semester in which the violation occurred or within thirty (30) business days after the end of that same semester. Grievances will be limited to those made formally in writing and signed by the participant or the participant's adult sponsor.

ORGANIZATIONAL HANDBOOK

The Arkansas Communication & Theatre Arts Association (ACTAA) Organizational Handbook is a codification of all policies and procedures of the association, as adopted by the Board of Directors (formally, Executive Council) or membership of the association. This document should be utilized by the Board of Directors, elected officers, officials, committees, liaisons, and other bodies of the association for reference on practices of the association’s operations.
